Good Vibes, Good Life by Vex King book review

As part of my goals for April, click here to view the post, I am reading a book and I am actually sticking at it! I wanted something which was a good read but also positive and uplifting and I am so glad I had picked this one up. I see it over on Kashual's Instagram, she had posted maybe something on her story as it's her husband who has written it and I couldn't help myself and purchased it.

My goals for April

I thought I would try something new to my blog it's not a totally new thing as I have read and watched things like this before. I do like the idea of having a goal or aims for the month something to work to. So without rambling on too much here are my goals for April

Read a book
I have a pile of books to read but I just find myself with no time to read but then I sit there not doing anything? So I am making it my aim to read more I used to love reading a book especially before bed. I have one ready that I'm excited to start Good Vibes, Good Life by Vex King, I know I won't finish the book in a month but who knows. Maybe when I do eventually finish it I'll update you guys on my thoughts.

Plan more/organise
Literally if you know me you know I love to organise and plan weekends away, blog posts etc but it has been slacking a little bit lately but I soon want to be back on track. I love my Filofax it is always with me as I tend to forget if I have things planned also I always have a notebook as well this is to keep any ideas down so I don't forget them. Also I have a few like weekly planners which are good for when I'm at home and have things to do. So next month I will be organising and planning more, it's like I have an obsession with knowing what's going on but believe me there is days where I will just go with the flow and not have anything planned and have the best times ever.

Clear/update wardrobe
This is going to be a struggle and I am not looking forward to this. For the longest I've wanted to go through my wardrobe and just be a bit cut throat and actually throw things away that I know I haven't worn and don't plan to wear! As I go through everything I will be looking to see if there is any staple items I need to replace or actually buy. I don't just throw things away in the bin I will often put items up on my Depop or give them to charity.

Spring clean
There is nothing more therapeutic then a good clean, open up the windows get some fresh air in, get some nice room sprays and just clean. There is now so many nice smelling cleaning products out there now and I've picked up a few tips from Mrs Hinch! I think I might do this after I have gone through my clothes and try organise things more.

Do you have any goals for April?

Finding a new book to read

Finding a book to read is something I find a exciting, it's not always about what latest book is out but about finding something that will take you away from your daily routine and into another zone. I haven't read a book for a while and I've been on the look out even asked posed the question to everyone on my Instagram and Snapchat, a few people did come back to me so thank you all for the recommendations. There isn't a particular genre that I will pick every time it's just about something that is a good interesting read.

I've been looking at a few books lately and I'm finding it a little difficult to choose one to start with, there is so many out there that sound so good in their own ways, here is what I've come across and been recommended so far.

Origin - Dan Brown
When I looked at this one a little further to find what it is about there was a lot, too much to write here! My understandings of the book is that Harvard professor, Robert Langdon visits a Museum in Bilbao, Spain to attend a major announcement and the host Edmond Kirsch, also a former student, is about to reveal a breakthrough. The evening turns into chaos and Langdon flees Bilbao with the museum director to Barcelona to try locate a cryptic password to unlock Kirsch's secret. Of course a lot more happens in between but this sounds very interesting.

We're going to need more wine - Gabrielle Union
Gabrielle Union has written a book which includes several chapters in which she talks about personal and true stories about power, color, gender, feminism and fame. Also she talks about different range of experiences including bullying, beauty standards, and competition between women in Hollywood, growing up in white California suburbia and then spending summers with her black relatives in Nebraska, coping with crushes, puberty, and the divorce of her parents. We only see what they want us to see and not what is behind closed doors, she appears to be very open in this book.
