April's Glossy Box

Over the last few months or so I have been getting really disappointed with GlossyBox especially the last two boxes and more so debating to cancel the subscription. I'm not the only one who has complained and I think they are learning from their mistake. So for February and March they included 8 products on the card and you only received 5 it was not clear in the slightest that you wouldn't receive them all oh and they repeated at least 3 of the products which was very disappointing especially when two of them were mascaras (in the same box) and one of them did not agree with me and I didn't like the other one. When I complained it didn't seem like they really were bothered and sent me another product in replace but this was something I already had been sent from them before.

I have been subscribed to GlossyBox for just over two two years maybe and I get they may have stock left over but the last 9 months or so they have been either repeating products or putting eye shadow palettes in which all seem to be so similar in colour or every other month using the same brands. I used to really enjoy receiving the box every month but the excitement is not really there anymore even the speciality months are not so WOW anymore. I think my fav box was a rose gold Christmas/new years edition in 2016, it was great had different products to boost your skin before and after the festive season.

Anywhooo lets see my thoughts on what I got this month...

I have used Eyeko liquid liners before and they are good the colour is very strong and pigmented like you won't get any missing bits. It's not often that I use eyeliner anymore and because of this my only downfall on these would be they don't last long once opened which is why I haven't opened this one yet and most likely wont until I actually want to use it.

Carmex Lip Balm Strawberry RRP £2.79
I am a fan of Carmex lip balms, they are super moisturising and honestly you only need a little as it goes a long way. My mum loves using them she was the one who got me onto them to begin with. This one is ideal if you want to apply straight from the tube as I know some people don't like pot products like the a Vaseline tin. I will always look at purchasing these and ideal you can actually pick them up in Primark now as well sometimes a little cheaper too.

Affect Matte Effect Transparent Loose Rice Powder RRP £9.35
You cannot go wrong with a translucent powder to set your make up and I've read up on this one and it doesn't contain any preservatives which could cause any allergies which is good if you have sensitive skin. I hadn't heard of the brand before and I wasn't sure if it would be available on somewhere like Look Fantastic or Beauty Bay, so I had a look on their website and clicked buy now and this it where it got interesting I was referred to another site which was fine but it wasn't in English! It is a let down that a product which isn't available to purchase in the UK is put in the box, what would happen if I really liked this product and wanted to repurchase?

Model Launcher Savanna Sun Bronzer £20
Oooh this is just so pretty, like you don't want to use it to ruin it. Unfortunately this has been included in a box previously and I didn't use it then (selling it on my Depop page, search JanayAndre) it's only because I have a bronzer I already use. I think my mum said she wouldn't mind having this. This is sold in the US I couldn't see any shipping to the UK but I know there is some companies out there that will then forward your item onto you in the UK which I'm sure there will be some customs charges to pay on top.

When I see Karl Lagerfeld on the packaging I was so excited to open it. This is such a cute little blusher but I suppose it could be used as a highlighter? I did swatch it and it has a subtle glow but looks a little powdery but I think if I spray a bit of Mac's Fix+ this might change. This has not yet been released to the general public yet and I'm not sure when/if it will be.

Will I still cancel my subscription?
Hmmm, it seems to have improved a little this month despite my little moans and I have credit to use either via Glossybox or through Look Fantastic. Each month when you complete the surveys you get a credit and it goes towards buying something which I have over £25 I think so I might use that and then cancel once that's all done. Lets see

Do you subscribe to any beauty boxes? Would you recommend any?
