Garnier Ultimate Blends Sleek Restorer shampoo and conditioner review

Last year I was looking for a new shampoo and conditioner, previously I was using Aussie but I fancied a change, I needed something that would get my back to being silky smooth and looking healthy.

What I use when I have my hair natural

If you know me you know you will know that 90% of the time my hair is straight. I mainly do this for ease, literally wake up and go, it's quite easy to maintain. Previously if I was to have my hair natural it would go frizzy and to me it would not look that nice like there would be some straightish bits to me it just looked a mess (or I would say a birds nest lol).

I made a decision to lay off using heat products so much as I know with the consistent heat the damage it will do over time will not be good.

After different serums, curling creams, curling activators I think I have found my perfect combination of products and my hair feels great and the curls are soooo much better than they used to be.

Empties of 2019 part 7

Slowly I am getting through my stash of products and using things I have received either in GlossyBoxes or samples somewhere!

Garnier Ultimate Blends coconut hair oil £9.99
My hair felt absolutely amazing using this. It's also a lightweight formula so your hair doesn't feel weighed down or look greasy

Would I buy full size?
Yes, of course

Empties of 2019 part 5

A new month and a new set and of empty products to review, these are not the usual kind of products I tend to use, minus the dry shampoo but it's always good to try something new!
--

Batiste dry shampoo in tropical
You all know I love a dry shampoo, they come in so handy if I haven't had a chance to wash my hair or I just want to add a little texture. This one smells so gorgeous just like summer!

Will I buy again?
Of course!

Empties of 2019 part 4

I made a pact to myself this year that I would try different brands and products seeing as I have a small collection of things I'm finishing a lot of different kinds of products lately which is definitely a good thing! So here is the latest lot of products I've finished.....

Palmers cocoa butter solid formula
Who doesn't love the smell of Palmers cocoa butter?! I love this and it certainly keeps you moisturized just it can leave your hands feeling very greasy after

Will I buy again?
Yes, this is great if you have dry skin

Schwarzkopf rise and shine volume and hair spray
I got this when I was away one weekend as I forgot mine and I thought I would try this one as I wanted some volume too. I think what sold it was the volume side but unfortunately I was a bit disappointed there was not really any volume I had to spray a lot to get anything.

Will I buy again?
No, I know there is other products that do add volume

Getting my hair done part 2

It's that time again, I'm getting my hair done!!

I'm actually loving this whole getting my hair done just makes me feel all excited and a treat to myself. So since my first post I have changed my hairdresser, not because I was unhappy with what she had done but when I had tried to book another appointment she didn't get back to me it took my friend at work to message her and she still didn't come back to me until a good 5 days after I sent my original message so as you can imagine I wasn't impressed. Anyway someone I've known for many years I had spoken to her a couple times as I know she's a hairdresser and asked if she could do my hair. We discussed what sort of thing I want which is basically balayage something a bit different for me and low maintenance I find if you go for this look you don't have to keep getting your hair done every 4/6 weeks cause your roots are coming through and I wanted change I was getting fed up of the dark brown. She knew exactly what I was going for and booked me an appointment.

Finally getting my hair done !

So after like 10 years I finally decided to get my hair done in a hairdressers!

EEKKKK!!!!!!!!

I used to get my hair done quite often but it stopped and I would get my mum to colour it, I became lazy. For a while I've wanted to change my colour and go lighter but when you've used XXL live colours so many times in the past despite going a shade lighter the colour just wouldn't budge. Alison, my work colleague, recommended to go Baiss and Co and the amazing Taz who does her hair every month and she has had some pretty crazy colours. No sooner I said yeh ok lets do it she was on her phone asking if she had any spaces on the following Tuesday within an hour I was booked in. Pictures of my current hair and what I would eventually like were sent over so she had an idea of what she was working with.

Empties 2019 part 1

I feel like in this post there is a lot of products I've actually loved and was sad to see that I had finished them but what a great way to start the new year on a positive note.

Jahaitian black castor oil leave in conditioner £5.99
Sometimes when I use a lot of heat on my hair it can sometimes feel dry so I try and put some kind of leave in conditioner. When I use this it makes my hair feel so soft and I always concentrate on my ends as they are the most damaged especially where I colour my hair too.

Would I buy again?
Yes, a little goes a long way

Empties of 2018 Part 4

It's been a month or so since my last empties post, I have quite a lot of products which I have finished lately, my "little" stash of empty products is getting bigger slowly! I will say I really enjoyed using a majority of these and will definitely look at using in the future but some didn't quite make the cut.

Naobay Moisturising Peeling
When I first see this I was a little unsure because it said peeling I thought my face was going to be bright red after I used it but I would call this a light face scrub. The little bits in it are not harsh at all so it feels like a gentle exfoliation I suppose my face felt so good after and got rid of the dead skin. Only thing is it's quite runny and every time I opened it I never expected it to come out like it did!
Would I buy again?
Yes, I struggled to find this in any where and the only place which I can find that stocks it is Amazon and I'm waiting for the day it says out of stock and can never purchase it again!

6 things I'm currently loving

I thought in this post I would share with you all a few things I'm just obsessing with at the moment whether it's food or beauty related. This list is completely random and I haven't done anything like this before but I thought I would share a little about me.

Pasta with green pesto, feta and spinach
Recently I've tried something new for lunches at work it's so simple and yet so yummy. I literally cook pasta add green pesto, spinach and feta. I'm trying to do some more recipes of what foods I'm currently eating so keep an eye out.

La Reina Del Sur (TV)
This is based on the book by Arturo Pérez-Reverte, there is already a series based on the book which is also called Queen of the South and is on Netflix. It's basically about this young female who falls in love and due to their line of work they die and she is on the run and makes a life for herself. Both series are kind of similar and I can't stop watching it. I will advise La Reina Del Sur is in subtitles so just be prepared.

Twinnings cold infusion tea in passion fruit, mango and blood orange
With the weather so hot lately putting one of these into cold water has been so refreshing it has a subtle hint of flavour and is not too over powering. There is other flavours and I've tried the watermelon and mint one but I was not overly keen on it.

Palmers Cocoa Butter Shampoo and Conditioner review

It's been a little while since I've found a shampoo and conditioner I can actually say I love! Usually I'll stick to the Aussie ones but since using Palmers Cocoa Butter shampoo and conditioner, I honestly prefer it so much more. My hair is very long and is naturally wavy with slight curls in places, I often blow dry and straighten it like once a week so I need something that is going to help protect it against the heat without it being weighed down.

Palmers have a whole range of hair products in different formulas ie, coconut oil, cocoa butter and manuka honey and more all of which have so many products within each of them. There will be something for everyone whether you looking for a leave in conditioner, edge control, root spray or curl pudding there is something for all.

This particular formula, cocoa butter, boasts of three main ingredients:
Vitamin E - to help the natural repair to damaged hair and strengthen the hair to promote healthy growth.
Peppermint oil - to balance the PH levels and stimulate the scalp.
Cocoa butter - conditions the hair without weighing it down
Also it's Sulphate and Paraben free!

How I get soft waves

A few people at work have asked how I get this soft natural wave hair style I often do and it was hinted slightly (Nikki, lol) to write a post on it. This is my I don't have the energy to do my hair and I want my bed look. It's so easy and does not really require any long winded process or loads of products.

I'll go through step by step what I do to achieve this simple look.

Scrunchies are back !!

Recently I purchased a Topshop black and gold baroque scrunchie, as soon as I saw it is automatically fell in love and purchased it. It reminds me so much of the 90's when I was growing up and as much as I prefer my hair down it is nice to tie it up out of my face. I need to invest in more of these especially for the summer. I think 90's is making a come back a little especially with the jelly shoes but I can't find myself going back to them although they do look nice on other people but they not for me second time round I think I'll stick my my Ted Baker Jelly Sandals

Best Hair Oil Yet !

I was recommended a while back to try out this Fantasia IC Brazilian Hair Oil Keratin Treatment by a very good friend of mine Daniel, who does my hair from time to time also a hairdresser of course LOL! He gave me a couple samples of it to try and some Nice and Curly Same Day Repair Cremé and I confess I had forgotten about them for a few weeks!! I finally remembered to use the Brazilian Hair Oil after washing my hair one day, I put a smaller than a pea sized amount in my hand, tipped my head forward and just massaged it in, concentrating on the ends of my hair. The smell is just heavenly. I try not to put too much oil\serums in my hair as I tend to make it look greasy at times. I noticed after I blow dried my hair how soft it was, at that point I was not finished with my hair I then straightened it. After I had finished (finally!) I just ran my fingers through my hair it felt soft and smooth and most important it looked healthier which is what I need after the winter. I also use this when I want to have my hair wavy/curly, I do the same when it's towel dried I massage it in but I will a little more (to stop the frizz) and use the Nice and Curly Same Day Repaire Cremé and braid or style as desired. I was slowly getting through them and I was thinking for a while I need to purchase some as this is becoming a must have air product. I have spent a lot of time and money in the past looking for the right serum for when I have my hair straight and I thought I found it when I purchased the John Freida Frizz Ease Serum but I would often stock up on them when Boots have the 3 for 2 offer but now since using the Brazilian Hair Oil I have noticed the difference in my hair. Being that this is not your standard hair product you would get in your local high street shop I thought I would have to do a bit of research to find it but luckily Daniel had already told me a shop known as Julie Shop stocks it or you can purchase it online. There is a few other shops that stock Fantasia IC products but not all of them stock this one. Priced at around £6/7 the bottle size is 171ml (odd measurement I know) I think its very good value for money as I know it will last me and keep me going at least till the end of summer. Hope this helped anyone or persuaded them to get some ! x
