No7 HydraLuminous Moisturising Foundation Review

!!!NEW FOUNDATION ALERT!!!!

About a month ago I picked up a new foundation, I just wanted a high street one as I would be wearing it for work. So I popped in my local Boots to see what they had and I don't know if it's just me but trying to get a foundation to match is such a nightmare I even had my mum with me and we just couldn't decide but to my rescue a lady from the No7 counter came over and offered to help me find a foundation.

The way No7 match you with foundations and even lipsticks is they have this little device and they hold it against your jaw line and it finds your shade. Of course they ask what your skin type is as well so they get the right one as well. I was matched with the HydraLuminous Moisturising Foundation in shade Calico. This particular foundation has a blend of anti oxidants including vitamin A, C and E mixed with grapeseed oil to keep your skin moisturised. She applied it to one side of my face so I could see the difference. Well I was literally like this is exactly what I want!! I want coverage to get hide spots and scars but not too much that you cannot see my freckles. It was just yes! So of course I had to buy it. She didn't let me leave the shop with only half a face done, which some make up artists do, she done the other side as well.

Beauty buys of December

I haven't done one of these written posts for a little while as I wasn't really buy too many products to warrant a post dedicated to what I had bought previously but when I sat there and put everything together I was a like oh there is a few bits here oops lol and nearly half are from Primark I just got a bit carried away. Primark are really impressing me at the moment a majority of the items were purchased when I was in London just before Christmas.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Love from £42
I will be doing a dedicated post (next week) to this so I won't go into too much detail but I absolutely love this such a beautiful scent.

Garnier botanical gel wash £3.49
This is my go to morning face wash, it just gently cleans your face. It's super handy that it's in a pump bottle even though it's a pump you are still able to get all the product out and it lasts super long!

My recent beauty buys

It's been a while since I done one of these kind of posts, unfortunately I just haven't been buying loads of beauty products to do a haul like post. Over the last month or so I've bought a few things, some which were repurchases and some new. I kind of forgot how much I love shopping for anything beauty related but not how much money I would spend!

See what new products I've bough and what products I've repurchased....

A few new things for Autumn

After going through my wardrobe on my week off, getting rid of clothes I haven't worn in over a year and know I'm not ever going to wear again or even wear for a first time. I try to go through my clothes well everything at least twice a year and I either pop some items which have barely been worn and still have a lot of use left on my Depop Store (search JanayAndre) or I give them to charity. I created some space in my wardrobe and as I was going through it I realised I could do with some more tops to wear casually out and to chill.

Me and my mum popped into Matalan a couple times in the last week, we forget we have one in Ipswich because of the location. I only went in for a pair of jeans and bought more than I intended to, oops! I pretty much have two new outfits that I can mix and match. I have always found the materials used of a good quality and know that they will last.

Westfields mini shopping haul

So I done some shopping last time I was in London, not a massive shop but I picked up a few things from Westfield's Stratford. Every so often when I'm in the city I will pick up a few things mainly to do with make up as living in Ipswich we don't have brands like Mac, NYX or Nars so I often find myself at a make up counter in one of the department stores or getting my make up done in Mac. Not everything I bought was for me or things I needed but why not treat yourself now and again!

I will most likely go on another mini shopping haul more around clothes but I think another bag purchase will be on the horizon, I've been eyeing a bag from Zara and I now realty want it..

Making memories

A few days ago I was sorting out one of my cupboards and I came across a Forever Friends note book. I completely forgot but when I was leaving school I had an idea to get some pictures through school and various days/nights out and ask anyone to write something about us and any funny memories. I will be honest I was reading through it and I did get a little emotional, it just made me think back to some really good times. I'm not in contact with everyone which happens when you leave but I still see some people from time to time but I am still best friend with the same girl, Sharna. We have been friends for so many years we have laughed and cried together and made some brilliant memories and still have loads more to make.

How I style my over kneed boots part 1

For a little while now I had been eyeing up over knee boots which are appearing all over but always struggled to find any that would fit my calves. That was until I see that River Island were now doing a wide fit range but I couldn't justify spending £75 on them not knowing if I was actually going to wear them. I was browsing through Primark where I saw these "suede" over knee heeled boots at less then half the price, only £22!!

Shopping in Westfields

Last weekend we decided to stop by Westfields on Sunday on our way home from seeing Beyoncé on the Saturday. First thing we did though was have a cheeky Nandos, it had to be done (and we kind of skipped breakfast so we was hungry). Pretty much every shop we had gone into had a extra long queue, I have no idea why but everyone thought it would be a good idea to go shopping at that point. I did ideally want to pick up a few things mainly tops, as I seem to have enough jeans, skirts, trousers and leggins and I'm starting to think of late that I'm struggling to find tops in my wardrobe or I find myself wearing the same things on the weekends. There is not many (if any) stores that have plus size clothes in Westfields in Stratford but at the moment where I am loosing weight I am starting to find myself being able to shop in some of the "normal" high street stores which is a good thing and personally it makes me happy. I will never be skinny, partially because that's not how I am built and who wants to be skinny, like common really?

Beauty buys of July

Another month and I can't help but buy beauty bits and as usual I get a majority of them from boots (so I get my points!). Browsing through Instagram and magazines seeing what nail colours are big, I found myself looking for a bright orange but not a neon one and a lilac, just a soft pastel colour.  At the moment I'm really liking Barry M's Gelly High Shine collection, so I chose the Satsuma and Prickley Pear (this is such a random name for it I know, but on Boots website its just called lilac?). They are both lovely colours but I would recommend applying two coats for it to last longer. I did get a little addicted to wearing the Satsuma as the weather was so nice and I wanted my nails to stand out, I think there is a picture on my insta if not I will get one soon of them both!

I'd seen a review in Company's May/Junes Magazine for the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks saying how they do not dry out your lips which I find with a lot of lipsticks after time they dry my lips out which can be so annoying especially when I'm out. I must say I have not been out properly and worn either of them yet but I have tried them on when lazing around the house to see how they look on and I'm absolutely in love with the two that I picked Hot Pepper and Olé Flamingo. I wanted fun and flirty colours with a matte'ish finish for the day time but could also be used at night, so far so good. On the left is Hot Pepper and the right is Olé Flamingo

Over a month ago me and Nowara had seen in TK Maxx this Ionika Cheetah Brush, I was definitely in need of a new one as the handle on my kept coming off and was very annoying even when picking it up I'd forget and one half would just go flying across my bed. Anyway straight away she said this is so me and that you had to buy it, I did hesitate and a few weeks later I went back and got it! It's so cute and is so me (if you know me I love leopard print). I couldn't find the exact one I purchase but they do have it in a purple version.

I did have to stock up on a few daily products I use and love, which included Garnier Pure Active Anti Spot (see review post here), Palmers Cocoa Butter and Boots Tea Tree Witch Hazel Foaming Face Wash. I've found this face wash so far brilliant, it cleans my skin of the dirt that baby wipes cant get rid of and just makes your skin feel fresh. I use it every morning and in the before I go bed (if I can remember that is). I picked up Elle's August magazine and it came with a free gift, love a freebie lol, of Malin + Goetz samples it included: lip moisturiser, cleanser and moisturiser. So far I have only tried the lip moisturiser and I was a little shocked, it was thick at first and felt gooey and I thought great sticky and horrible but I gave it a chance before wiping it off so I kept it on and surprisingly it kept my lips moisturised and they were so soft in the morning. So in the future if I can get away from the Eos and Vaseline limited editions I may give this a go.

Garnier Pure Active Review

I've been looking for a moisturiser to use day and night that doesn't make my skin feel greasy and clogged up for quite a while now I've gone through a fair few and yet to find something that helps until now. I had been using Lush's Vanishing cream for a while and at first I thought it was brilliant but after a while I had noticed it was leaving my skin a greasy and would become shiny throughout the day and as soon as I'd get home I would often get some tonner water on a cotton pad and remove the grease and dirt. I have a oily combination skin and struggle to find something that's the right balance for my skin. I've never really thought of using Garnier products but I had often seen adverts on the TV and happened to be in Boots one day and they had some of the Garnier Pure A selection on offer. I was stood there for quite a while reading on what ones done which and what I think would be best. I picked up two, I thought I'd do a day and night and test it over a period of time. As my night one I purchased the Garnier Pure Active Anti Spot 24hr Moisturiser and for the day Garnier Skin Naturals Pure A Anti-Imperfection Moisturiser.
