Birthday wishlist 2018

Ooh it's my birthday next month I'm actually a little excited I'm not sure why as I actually don't have any plans yet! I've had my eye on a few things lately and I know one of items on my wish list I will be getting from a friend as she cannot decide what to get me, in her words what can you get the girl who has everything? But there is still somethings I don't have but would like.

Have you tried Paperless Post?

Recently I was contacted by a company on behalf of Papaerless Post to try out their website and services. The company is online based and specialise in customisable stationary and digital cards, honestly they had me at stationary and I just couldn't resist.

I was browsing through the website to see what kind of things they do. There is so many categories to pick from, birthdays to thank you to save date, the company is American based so there is more specific holiday themed cards like Diwali, Lunar New Year and Hanukkah. They have also done collaborations with other known brands like: Kate Spade New York (I just love the designs), Rifle Paper Co and Oscar De La Renta.

I have sent a card already, it's so simply to do!

Weekend in Manchester

A couple of weeks ago me and some of the girls went to Manchester to surprise Naquelle. She moved up there a couple of years ago or so and we hadn't all yet made a trip there for a girls weekend. We had a group chat with all of us and it was discussed of doing something towards the end of May as it was Naquelle's and Shonola's birthdays (both are very close) and there was talks of going Manchester but it didn't really go any further, little did Naquelle know we had created a separate group chat and decided we would go down for the weekend and surprise her. The main group chat things would be mentioned again about doing something even going London but none of us really responded to it, it was all an act, an act we all played our parts very well, Natalie's sarcasm just comes naturally. We would go back to the "secret" group and discuss things we should say and have reasons if we couldn't do that weekend. We had Naquelle's boyfriend involved (thanks to Sharna and Shonola) and he was in on it all making sure she had time off work, she had no idea.
It came to the Friday and this was the day. There was a major surprise for Naquelle as her boyfriend had proposed to her in the morning! How cute, romantic, sweet, perfect, I could go on but you get what I'm trying to say. Sharna drove down and we did have some jokes along the way, we got stuck in traffic and someone spotted a good looking guy in the car behind so we made a sign on tissue (don't worry we didn't ruin a lipstick we had a pen lol) I think it said "we think your buff", me and Natalie held it up so he could see it and well we made his day, he was smiling and giggling slightly lol. Sharna is the sign still in your car?! So a few hours later we arrived, it was time to surprise her even more so we ran in her house screaming with balloons and party poppers. The facial expression was priceless she had absolutely no idea we was coming at all. It was safe to say we planned a surprise and no one or nothing gave it away. We done it!

New Ted Baker bag

Ahh my favourite accessory!! For the last 5/6 years Ted Baker bags have caught my eye, I love the styles they look so smart and they look very structured. A few years ago I would no way have bought one as they are a little pricey but you are also paying for quality not just the brand. I've bought bags from all over the high street, some brilliant and some not so good. As much as I love River Island unfortunately their bags I struggle with, they always break or stitching comes apart, so I have stayed away from them but my favourite high street brand has to be H&M they last the absolute longest and are so spacious.

Birthday Wish List 2016

My birthday is coming up very soon, 1st November to be precist, I do love when my birthday it's not too cold and I'm not stuck inside doing nothing! I'm having the week off work and will spend some time with my mum as she has the week off too and will at some point hop on a train to London and do some shopping and visit my favourite place, V&A.

Of course everyone has ideas of what they want and I thought I'd share with you a few things I would love to have some of them are a bit out there but a girl can dream.

Afternoon tea and drinks with my family

As a little extra for my mum’s birthday I decided to get all the females in the family to join me and my mum for afternoon Tea at the Salthouse, well all that could make it. Myself and my mum have been to afternoon tea in the past (including The Ritz which is amazing), for some members of the family it was their first time. We all enjoyed it very much catching up with each other and having a laugh and we all agreed we would do it again but in the summer as it was a little cold. If you are in the area and you like a cup of tea, mini food and a beautiful view in summer I would highly recommend you book a table with some friends and enjoy. The family members that couldn’t make the tea came round that evening and we all had a few drinks and music playing, my dad had cooked some food. My mum has enjoyed her birthday celebrations but is now happy that we can go back to normal!

It was casual dress but I still wanted to make an effort as The Salthouse is a lovely hotel, it's kind of posh but not posh if you know what I mean. I wanted to be comfortable in what I was very because we was going to be sat down for a little while so I decided to wear a black sleeveless belted jacket with my khaki flowered shirt some black treggins and my trusty Chelsea boots.

Jacket - Dorothy Perkins (currently in the sale)
Shirt - Sold out in New Look but here is something similar
Trousers - Dorothy Perkins
Shoes - New Look
Earrings - River Island

Celebrating my mums birthday

It was my mums yesterday and it was quite a special one. Myself and my dad decided we would go for a meal to celebrate, somewhere nice and different to where we usually would go. We decided to go to The Last Anchor, we had all been last year for another family member's birthday and we thoroughly enjoyed out meal.

We decided as it was mid week that we weren't going to dress up majorly but still look like we made an effort. I had two outfit ideas in mind, both involved a sleeveless blazer either black or khaki and whichever I didn't choose to wear for the meal I would wear Friday for afternoon tea. My mum had to help me a little bit and she could understand my dilemma both would look lovely but which one for the meal. I didn’t want to wear anything that was fitted or restricting which is why in the end decided to wear black long sleeved roll neck stretch top, black treggins with a khaki belted blazer and black Chelsea boots. I felt this was more suited for a evening meal. Also it was very comfortable and wasn't over the top. Personally I think sleeveless blazers are a wardrobe staple, they go wish pretty much anything and ideal for all year around.

The meal itself was absolutely beautiful and I would recommend anyone to go there if they are around, you may wish to book in advance to avoid disappointment especially on weekends

My Birthday!!!

It was my birthday on Sunday so since I finished work at 12 Thursday I had literally not stopped until Sunday/Monday. As me and my best friend Sharna do we celebrate our birthdays for the whole weekend sometime even two weekends because our birthdays are 5 days apart and its become a tradition we do something together.

So when I finished work Thursday, I straight away went into the town centre and got my hair cut, it desperately needed a trim and my non existent fringe cutting back in. So with my hair cut I went for a browse but surprisingly I could not find anything I liked, I just left and headed home. Later in the evening I decided I was going London for the night as I do.

I woke up Friday thinking I would do a bit of brief shopping in London before I leave mainly because I was going out in Ipswich that night and it was my birthday weekend I wanted something new. Disappointingly I could not find anything and what I did see I knew I would be able to buy in Ipswich. I went home sad and hungry lol. When it came to choosing an outfit for the night that was stress, I knew Sharna was coming round for pre drinks but I was in a panic as nothing was going right for me, my hair was taking forever and my make up (don't go there). She came with a bottle of wine luckily by this point I had minimal but my going out make up done just needed her opinion on the outfit which I went for all black (that's totally not like me lol). We had a good night seeing loads of people who we don't see so much any more. All in all it was a good night.

Dress : High neck sleeveless Asos Curve
Jacket : Longline 3/4 sleeve Primark
Shoes : Open toe fringe Carvela

Early Birthday Present

A few weeks ago (maybe a month or two ago now) my very good/best friend Nowara bought me a early birthday present, a new bag from Accessorize (see here). I was sooo excited even though my birthday is not until 1st November. Everyone that knows me know that I love a bag and as soon as I saw this one I fell in love. Its a burgundy colour which I keep seeing all over the high street this season and I can't wait to use it more, it also comes in other colours too. Since I got it I've used it a couple times and it is so spacious, it fits my iPad, notebook, umbrella and my little make up bag the only thing is my purse is just so big for the bag it fits but I've had to buy a smaller purse which isn't a bad thing because it takes up a lot of space in all my bags. It has two outer zip compartments and one inner, it can be carried over you arm or shoulder (as it has an additional strap) so its very versatile for me. I'm currently in London at the moment shopping as its my birthday tomorrow !! Yay and I'm using this bag and I have been shopping for hours now and it's not hurting my arm or anything it's just perfect and my nails match it too !!!
