How I keep my skin spot free

We have all suffered with breakouts at some point in our lives and if you haven't well you're just blessed. As a teenager I was lucky enough not to really have any I had the odd one but it wasn't till I got a bit older, in my early 20's, where they wanted to make an appearance and trust me it wasn't pretty. It knocked my confidence and I wasn't one to wear make up everyday just because (who's getting up earlier to put make up on?!) but there was times I had to, to cover the redness. I'd be lying if I said it never brought me down and times I didn't want to go out because I couldn't get my make up right to cover it. Also I did pick at them which is the worst thing to do as I'm now left with some scars and uneven skin tone.

Recently I've now been able to control my breakouts better, maybe it's because I'm getting older? I'm not sure but what ever I'm doing I will continue to do and I'm going to share with you what products I use. Also my skin type is combination, typical oily t-zone but occasionally suffer with dry patches around my mouth and chin (is very annoying)

The number one thing, is what you put in your body. If you're going to eat processed and fatty foods and drinks all the time don't expect to have amazing skin. I drink at least two litres of water a day, I know not everyone loves water but maybe try adding fruit (lemon or blueberries are good for you) or something to add a little flavour. I try to eat a balanced diet, plenty of greens and fruit where ever possible and I do have treats as well I don't restrict myself from them.

About 3/4 times a month I will do a face mask, it's a nice little bit of me time. Before I apply the facemask I exfoliate using Body Shops facial brush with Garnier green tea gel wash, to get rid of any dead skin. Then with a foundation brush I apply Himalayan charcoal mask. This has got to be my fav face mask, it just clears my skin and looks refreshed, I won't go into too much detail as I have previously written a post on this before, see my full review here. If I don't have this face mask to hand I use either Mudmasky detox mask or sheet mask, I loved the Sephora Honey one. Give my skin the needed detox from day to day life. I did used to use Lush fresh face masks, some of them were yummy but I didn't really see many benefits from using them that much.

In the evenings when I get home either from work or being out I will remove my make up or just general daily dirt with a tea tree facial wash, it really refreshes my skin and anything with tea tree is good for blemished skin. Once I've done that I will give it a final clean with a tea tree toner, I put some onto a cotton pad and wipe my face all over. Now after this my face feels so fresh and so clean.

If for what ever reason I do have the odd spot, I try avoid foundation or anything that will like cover it from air and I use either tea tree oil or Dr Spot. Only a little is needed but I find they help with the redness

A majority of the products I use are from Body Shop and this was not a sponsored post I just find their products are really agreeing with my skin.

Are there any products you use that that you couldn't live without? What products would you recommend?
